The Prime Ministry referred 667 cases of forged medical exemptions to the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission (IACC) at King Abdullah University Hospital.

The counterfeit exemptions were discovered in April 2018 by the Prime Ministry’s bureau.

An official at IACC said that a specialized team overseeing the matter found that the value of the 667 forged exemptions amounted to one million and 459 thousand JOD.

The eight-month investigation tracked 520 people who benefited from the exemptions, all of whom said that they were provided with the documents by hospital personnel and admitted to bribing the staff with JOD100 to JOD 500 per exemption.
