During a speech delivered on Monday, February 18, 2019, to officials of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jordanian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Hala Zawati confirmed the importance of the private sector's role in activating a large part of the agreements concluded during the Kuwaiti Prime Minister's recent visit to Jordan, especially those related to energy and its renewable sources.

Zawati added that the London conference to support the economy in Jordan will present several major projects in this field, namely the Jordan Petroleum Refinery Expansion Project, which will cost more than one billion US Dollars, the Renewable Energy Storage Project at an estimated cost of 200 million US Dollars, and Shale Oil Extraction Project, as Jordan is seen to have the fourth world reserves of shale oil, according to Kuwait News Agency.
