The trending video on social media showing young people climbing a Christmas tree in Irbid during the New Year's Eve celebrations turned out to be one of Irbid’s malls main events for the night.

According to a source in the mall's administration, people were allowed to take the gifts off of the Christmas tree, with prior coordination of the mall's marketing department.

The source told Roya that what happened was arranged to bring joy to citizens, stressing that it was not an attack, and adding that the value of the gifts was $40,000 distributed all over the tree, which were then distributed to the attendees.
