The head of the Palestinian parliamentary committee Yahia Saud met with the Jordanian Ambassador to the Egyptian Republic Ali Al-Ayed, on Monday, December 24, 2018.

The meeting discussed coordination with the Egyptian authorities to conduct a convoy of humanitarian aid provided by the Palestinian Committee for Palestinian brothers in the Gaza Strip.

Saud said that the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II continue to instruct the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) to provide all forms of support for Palestinians, especially conducting convoys of food aid and medical supplies for the people in the Gaza Strip.

Saud said that the humanitarian convoy comes within the framework of the humanitarian relief role and the national responsibility of the Jordanians in the support of the Palestinian people to alleviate the effects of the siege imposed on Gaza by Israeli forces, specially in this winter time.

The convoy will be accompanied by members of the Palestinian Parliamentary Committee and will coordinate with the Hashemite Charity Organization. The convoy will carry foodstuffs, heating supplies and clothes for students in schools, in hope to support the steadfastness of the children of Gaza and alleviate their suffering in the sector.

Saud appreciated the good efforts exerted by Ambassador Al-Ayed to coordinate with the Egyptian authorities to obtain security clearings as soon as possible to facilitate the passage of the convoy safely to the sector.

Saud thanked the Egyptian leadership and its steadfast efforts towards the Palestinian cause, who gives the Palestinian issue priority in its foreign policy.
