Roya cameras captured a staff member at Al Mafraq Government Hospital carelessly smoking a cigarette on Sunday, December 9, 2018.

The video shows that the man was smoking in the hospital’s reception hall, which is full of sick people and children.

In Hani Al Mulki's government, the fine for smoking in public places such as schools and hospitals, as well as the sale of individual cigarettes to minors reached JD3,000 in accordance with an amendment in the Public Health Law.

According to the amendment, which was approved by the Mulki's government, "Anyone who smokes tobacco products in public places where smoking is prohibited shall be fined not less than JD100 and not more than JD200."
