Philippine President, Rodrigo Duterte, said that there will be an armed civilian group to confront a rebel communist group called the The New People's Army (NPA), on November 29, 2018.

He added that the so-called "Duterte Death Squad" would be sent to kill suspect rebels as well as drug addicts and even people who urinate in the streets.

A member of the Philippine Senate said thousands of deaths from the president's drug campaign proved death squads were already in place.

Duterti said that he had tried to reach peace with the communists but they continued to kill soldiers and policemen.
