The Dead Sea-Aqaba Road reopened on Saturday, November 24, after closing it as a precautionary measure late Friday night, due to the rise in water levels in the area, the Ministry of Public Works and Housing has said.

The road had been closed in both directions for the safety of drivers, after heavy rain formed flash floods and claimed the lives of 22 people last month in the same area.

Weather forecasters have predicted a rainy, cloudy and thunderous Saturday, with a chance of heavy showers in eastern and southern parts of the Kingdom.

Citizens are once again advised to keep away from lowlands and valleys, where floods could form.
