Secretary-General for Palestinian Affairs at the Arab League (AL), Saeed Abu Ali, stated that the league is working towards a solution that resolves the Palestinian division and supports Palestinian refugees’ rights.

Abu Ali added that AL is also deploying efforts in order to confront recent decisions taken by the United States which included re-locating its embassy to Jerusalem and ceasing UNRWA’s funds.

AL also expressed its full support of the reconciliation efforts lead by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and the Egyptian government in order to restore Palestine’s national unity.

During a celebration in tribute to former leader Yasser Arafat in his 14th anniversary, which was held in the Palestinian embassy in Cairo, AL stressed that the Palestinian issue remains a priority.

Palestine's ambassador and Arab League’s permanent envoy, Diab Al Loh, stated that Arab regions, including Egypt, have always supported the Palestinian cause in defying the Israeli occupation.
