Civil Defense Directorate (CDD) search and rescue teams recovered the body of the second girl who went missing in Madaba three days ago, when her parents’ car got swept away by the flash floods that claimed the lives of 12 people.

This brings up the total death toll from the floods to 13 people.

The CDD said that the child’s body was recovered in Wadi al Hidan area on Monday, November 12, after non-stop efforts to try and find her.

Thousands of civilians and tourists were evacuated from flooded areas in southern Jordan on Thursday and Friday.

On Sunday, November 11, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, sent 60 tonnes of emergency humanitarian aid to help those affected by the flash floods in the Kingdom.
