The Prosecutor General of the Attorney General of the State Security Court (SSC), General Col. Fawaz Otoum, announced the investigation regarding the "Terrorist cell of Salt" case and accordingly referred to the State Security Court, which involved 14 perpetrators, 3 of whom are women.
Roya got a copy of the charges’ documentation that has detailed information about the associated terrorist-plot that killed six martyrs of the joint-forces as well as a number of casualties.
The Attorney-General charged the perpetrators with the following:
The perpetrators, who admitted forming a group in order to carry out terrorist armed operations in Jordan, revealed that they were planning to carry out several attacks against the following:
- Buses carrying members of the armed forces.
- Buses carrying public security personnel
- The building of the General Intelligence Directorate in Salt
- The building of the Military Intelligence Directorate in Salt
- The Governorate of Salt Governorate
- Public security patrols
The perpetrators agreed to carry out their armed operations against the aforementioned targets by using automatic firearms in order to kill the personnel on duty, using weapons in their possession.
They also agreed that, once an operation is done, the weapons seized by members of the security services should be used to arm the rest of the group. Following that agreement, some of the perpetrators started inspecting their targets, to later change their mind on using distant-controlled explosive devices.
