A private school student was badly beaten by three of his teachers on Thursday, November 1, Al Ghad newspaper reported.

The eighth grader’s father told Al Ghad that his son was violently beaten by three of his teachers inside one of the school's classrooms last week; he did not reveal the reason behind the attack.

The concerned father added that the teachers slapped, punched and kicked his son - who has not yet been discharged from hospital - as his classmates watched in horror.

Sadly, the school did not call to check up on the student’s health condition, according to the father, who was also dismayed by the news that the suspects were released on bail just 24 hours after they were arrested.

Al Ghad said that the school is located in Khalda/Umm Al Summaq area in Amman, without disclosing its name.

The Ministry of Education said that its Private Education Department has opened an investigation into the incident.
