A disturbing and sad video of a female beggar in Downtown Amman made the rounds on Jordanian social media on Friday, November 2.

The woman was filmed lying on the floor besides a car and kicking her feet up in the ground, before suddenly getting up and running towards oncoming traffic, refusing to move until they’ve given her some money.

The Ministry of Social Development said that one of its teams is currently searching for the woman, after receiving complaints from concerned citizens.

The ministry suspects that the beggar is suffering from mental health problems and said that once she's been found, they will send her off for a psychological assessment. 

The woman will not only receive medical treatment, according to the ministry, but she is also going to be receiving financial aid for her and her family.
