Minister of State for the Middle East at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Minister of State at the Department for International Development, Alistair Burt, expressed his condolences over the victims of the tragic accident caused by flash floods in the Dead Sea area, which claimed 21 lives and caused more than 30 injuries on Thursday, October 25, 2018.
In an official tweet posted on Friday, October 26, 2018, Bert stated "My deepest condolences to the families and friends of those killed in the tragic incident at the DeadSea. The UK stands shoulder to shoulder with Jordan at this difficult and distressing time."

In the past 48 hours, officials and diplomats from all over the world have been sending their condolences to the Kingdom as the tragedy claimed many lives, most of whom were school children.
