An arrest warrant has been issued by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior against a Kuwaiti man, who tricked an Asian country into signing a fake deal and buying non-existent oil from him.

The man received $658.000 as a first installment for the deal, in which the Asian country was promised to receive crude oil from the Gulf state, Kuwaiti daily Al-Seyassah reported.

An official complaint was filed by the Asian country against the defendant, after he failed to deliver on his promise to supply them with crude oil.

The defendant disappeared after receiving the $658.000 payment, according to the complainant’s lawyer, Houra’a al-Habib.

“The Ministry of Interior is doing its best to catch the suspect. My client and I demand that he goes to court and will ask for compensation,” al-Habib said.
