In an unprecedented move, Iraq's Prime Minister-designate, Adel Abdul Mahdi, launched on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, a website that allows Iraqis to submit an application for the post of minister for the new government.

According to Alhurra news channel, the website will be receiving submission until Thursday afternoon, October 11.

The site requests personal data, political orientation, political party -if any, and the ministry the applicant is running for. Candidates are then required to submit university qualifications, and work experience.

The site allocates a mandatory writing space through which candidates must list the main problems facing the sector or the ministry they’re apllying for, and propose practical solutions for implementation.

Candidates are asked to explain their vision of good leadership, provide practical examples, and point out what distinguishes them from others that merits them the job.

Iraqi PM Abdul Mahdi, who was appointed on October 2 to form the new government will be choosing the new minsters before the end of the constitutional deadline next month.

The Prime Minister-designate’s new government must gain confidence in Parliament. In the event of failure to choose a new government, another person will be chosen.
