An official source at the Jordanian State Security Court refuted the rumor that circulated earlier today, October 8, 2018, regarding investigating a Jordanian Member of the Parliament (MP) in a case that is related to drugs’ possession. Adding that the Court is not aware of such a case.

The source briefed Roya about the raid on the MP’s office (earlier today). He assured that the inspection of the MP’s office was in relation to a case of forged papers that is linked to the employment at Al-Bashir Hospital. The case, he added, was referred by the government to the Anti-Corruption Authority and investigated by the court accordingly.

The MP, Abed Al-Mahsiri, appeared as a guest on Roya's Nabd Albalad program where he clarified the incident and answered questions related to it.

Al-Mahsiri confirmed that, unlike what was shared by the media, he had not been called by authorities to appear before the Prosecutor General nor was detained or arrested.

He stressed that the Anti-Corruption authority did not find any forged documents inside his office.
He explained that during an investigation in a corruption case that was filed against someone else, his name came up because this individual used to work with him in the past (back in 2013), and that investigations proved that he is not involved and that all other claims were fake.

He pointed out that the anti-corruption committee, on Sunday, inspected his company's office and realized that the person who is conducting such violations is not him but another person who, as it turned out, was working at the Ministry of Finance.

The MP assured that that the investigation team were not looking for drugs nor found any in his company or his office.
