At least fifty people were killed and another 100 badly burnt in a horrific accident in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, according to a local official statement on Saturday, October 6, 2018.

The United Nations (UN) Radio "Okapi" reported that a tanker truck collided on a main highway with another truck in an area around 200 km southwest of the capital, Kinshasa.

As villagers rushed to help dealing with the leaking fuel, the tanker exploded resulting in a huge fire that quickly spread to neighboring houses.
