Jordanian Prime Minister Omar Razzaz said on Saturday that all Ministries and governmental institutions, as well as municipalities and public universities, are required hand over any surplus vehicles that were previously given to them to serve official purposes, adding that the handover must be done as soon as possible.

Razzaz stated that the vehicles will be re-distributed to affiliated governmental institutions accordingly and as needed, while the rest of these vehicles will be listed for sale as seen fit and in compliance with the law.

Upon the Prime Ministry’s request, an inventory list of all governmental affiliated vehicles was provided by the Jordanian Ministry of Transport’s “Government Vehicles Tracking and Monitoring” Directorate, in order to determine their current need and fair use.

This decision comes in line with the government's current policy, which calls on reducing its expenditures and controlling its use of public resources while maintaining efficiency and effectiveness.
