23 members of Parliament have signed a memorandum calling for a committee to investigate the #8ala8 event that happened in Amman, on Friday September 21, 2018.

The MPs considered what happened at the event unacceptable to the customs, traditions and the ethics of Jordanian society.

A memo by MP Khalil Atieh, stated that a group of immoral, abnormal people who do not adhere to our religion have raised “concern” (8ala8) in the Jordanian way of life.

The memo noted that "the title of the ceremony shows that it was systematic and thought-out”, as he called for the formation of a commission to inquire as quickly as possible to question the perpetrators and the sponsors, warning of "the consequences of corruption and repetition of this terrible and shameful event."
