The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) condemned the US decision to close its office in Washington.

The decision, which is expected to be officially announced in the coming hours by the National Security Advisor of the United States, John Bolton, has been seen as another pressuring approach over PLO amid the preparations for proposing a Middle East peace plan.

Member of the executive committee of PLO and head of human rights and civil society in the organization, Ahmed Tamimi, commented on the subject saying that this approach is nothing but a proof of “American hypocrisy.”

Tamimi added that this comes as a continuation of the policies of US current President Donald Trump, which began with the announcement of the transfer of the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of the Occupation State, and the slashing the funding allocated to hospitals in Jerusalem.

Tamimi concluded his statement by stressing that all similar procedures done by Trump’s administration will not dissuade the Palestinian leadership from continuing to implement its strategic decision to stand against any deals that would harm establishing the Palestinian State and its people.
