A specialist team from the Agriculture Department of Ajloun arrested three people on Tuesday, who were found in possession of around one ton of firewood that had been freshly cut from a citizen’s farm in the town of Anjara.

Hatem Freihat, Head of the Forestry Department within the Agriculture Department, told local media that legal action will be taken against the offenders, who have now been referred to court.

The seized firewood was returned to its rightful owner, who said that seven trees were cut down to gather the stolen firewood.

Ajloun Governorate is famous for its thick forests and beautiful nature.

Many tourists visit the green governorate to enjoy one of its reserves and resorts, and, of course, to visit the famous Ajloun Castle.
