Twelve people were injured after a school bus deteriorated and flipped over sideways in Tabarbour, Amman, on Monday, a security source has said.

Ten students, their teacher and the bus driver were taken to Prince Hamzah Hospital for treatment, the source said, adding that their health condition is moderate.

School busses are the safest way to get children to and from school, however, this isn’t the first time a school bus has caused students injuries in Jordan.

Over the past few months, several accidents involving school busses have taken place, some of which resulted in the death of more than one student.

School bus drivers should always follow the speed limit and stay alert when on the road.

Other drivers should slow down when near a school bus and give it priority, especially if a child is getting on or off the bus.
