‏Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah met with a group of Jordanian women earlier today on Sunday, September 2, 2018, who participated in the Jordan Food Week.

Organized by the USAID, the week-long event, which took place in July 2018 in Amman, celebrated local cuisine, artisanal foods and gastronomic experiences, as well as authentic Jordanian products and traditional dishes.

In the meeting, Her Majesty exchanged talks with 15 women from Karak, Irbid, Zarqa and Salt, who leaded the production of food during the event. They discussed the production of different traditional Jordanian recipes, including the cooking process of some famous main dishes like Jameed, Makmoora, and Rachouf, as well as various well-known appetizers like jam and pickles.

Her Majesty listened to the experiences of these women, including their marketing journey and expanding plans which they wish for their projects. The Queen expressed her pride in the capability of these women in overcoming the challenges and their excellent abilities in meeting with food safety standards and maintaining quality and traditions, which is one of the main tourism attractions.
