The Civil Defense Directorate (CDD) in Tafilah has been called-in 15 times since the beginning of this summer, to deal with venomous snakes who entered citizens’ homes uninvited.

The CDD has also had to rescue 20 people who were stung by poisonous scorpions during the same period. Head of the CDD in Tafilah, Usamah Al Kasrawi, said that his team had to save one family from a two-meter-long snake that decided to visit their garden.

The Directorate announced that citizens have to be cautious when encoutering any exotic animals, reptiles, scorpions or any other suspicious or dangerous-looking animals.

It is highly recommended not to approach these animals as they might be dangerous and to immediately contact the CDD for help. In case of an emergency, the CDD is ready to assist inquiries around the clock at the following number; 991.
