A side road in the Karak Governorate was split in half on Saturday morning, much to the shock of the residents living in the area.

The residents of Al Marj neighbourhood told Roya’s reporter in Karak that “the road split in half because of the roadworks that were being carried out by a contractor on the street adjacent to it.”

According to the residents, the contractor was working on expanding the adjacent road, and now the collapsed road, which they heavily rely on, has had to be closed.

The residents have also placed the blame on the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, which is yet to respond to the incident.
