The Central Amman Police Directorate arrested a woman on Tuesday who murdered a woman of Asian descent in Amman several days ago.

Amer Sartawi, the spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD), said that a special team from the PSD, in collaboration with a forensics team, have been investigating the murder case for the past few days; their investigation led them to an Asian woman who confessed to committing the crime.

The deceased was found dead in her apartment and her body was violently beaten before her death, according to Sartawi.

When the killer was first interrogated, she claimed that the victim’s husband attacked and killed her, however, it wasn’t long before she confessed to her crime, which she said she committed following an argument with the deceased.

Sartawi did not disclose the nature of the women’s relationship, nor did he reveal what they were doing in Jordan.

The case has now been referred to the Public Prosecutor.
