Jordan's Senate President Faisal Al-Fayez met with the Speaker of the National Assembly of South Korea, Moon Hee-sang, and Deputy Prime Minister Kim Dong-yeon, in the presence of the Jordanian Ambassador to Korea, Dr. Adel Aldaileh, to discuss the bilateral relations and means of collaboration between the two countries in the parliamentary, economic, political and tourism sectors, Petra reported.

The officials praised the good relations between the two nations, while urging further cooperation between their countries in the form of partnerships.

Al-Fayez called on Korean businessmen to build partnerships with their Jordanian counterparts in the fields of medical tourism, public transport, energy, and mining, especially seeing as Jordan has signed a number of free trade agreements with many countries.

During the meeting, the Syrian crisis was discussed, its burden on Jordan and the help the international community must give to Jordan to aid it in this matter.

The two sides also discussed the Palestinian conflict and the need to reach a solution based on the two-state solution, Arab Peace Initiative and international legitimacy resolutions.

Moon Hee-sang valued the important role Jordan is playing in bringing the political conflicts in the Middle East to an end, as well as their role in combating terrorism and bringing peace to the region, noting that his country will continue to support Jordan in their mission to help the Syrian refugees in the Kingdom.

Al-Fayez met with a number of Korean heads of Christian churches on the sidelines of the visit and urged them to invite their followers to visit the holy sites in Jordan, namely the Baptism Site, Mount Nebo, along with other historical Christian churches in the Kingdom.
