Israeli forces shot dead a 40-year-old Palestinian man on Saturday near the Gaza-Israel border fence, the Health Ministry reported.

Three people were killed by Israeli fire on Friday during anti-occupation demonstrations, according to the Ministry. Meanwhile, more than 307 Palestinians have been injured since Friday, five of whom are in critical condition.

The killing of Palestinian protesters has evoked international criticism, which is why on Saturday, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for the launching of a transparent investigation into the deaths of Palestinians in protests. This comes in addition to a request by Palestinian PM of the Palestinian National Authority, Rami Hamdallah, to look into the same deaths.

Chairwoman of the left-wing party Meretz, Tamar Zandberg, played it well and urged the UN to open an international investigation into the deaths of Palestinians by Israeli fire in Gaza.

Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman, warned Hamas and Gaza residents not to approach the border fence, stating that they made it clear that approaching the fence would put their lives at risk, adding that the residents of Gaza should consider replacing their leadership instead of wasting time on protests.
