Can we take a moment please to congratulate the Roya TV game show “Lose & Win” on making it as a finalist in the fourth annual Content Innovation Awards?

Because of its unique format and innovative style, out of thousands of entries, the show is the only Arab program competing for the “Factual Entertainment Programme of the Year” title against two contenders: World Extreme TV with Extreme Cuisine, and Endemol Shine Group with Family Food Fight.

This is a thrilling achievement for Roya TV, as the Content Innovation Awards “recognise innovation from content providers, distributors and technology companies that are helping transform today’s global television industry,” as explained on their website.

The shortlisted - in 24 categories - were revealed on Tuesday, and the winners will be announced by a prestigious panel of judges in a grand ceremony at the Carlton Hotel in Cannes on October 14, 2018. Keep your fingers crossed for Roya TV, won't you?

Lose & Win

This is no ordinary game show; Roya TV has come up with an entirely new concept that lets its viewers compete for the same money contestants are playing for.

The questions asked by the show’s host aren’t based on facts. In other words, contestants’ answers are pure guesses that must match the hypothetical questions answered by the viewers through the Roya TV app, and there is no “right or wrong” answer.

And at hand to help contestants make up their mind (or rather take a wild yet “informed” guess) are the “Consultants,” aka Nadim Masri and Mahmoud Darwazeh.

You can read about the show's format in full detail here, and watch Season 2 on Roya TV every Thursday at 5:30 GMT.

The new season has been revamped to include new, more engaging segments, without losing the old elements that made it a success in the first place.
