The son of one of the Mayors in Zarqa assaulted a doctor at Al-Zarqa Governmental Hospital, a security source said on Monday.

According to the source, the doctor was admitted to the hospital after the attack, where his general condition was described as average. The source added that the attacker was arrested and an investigation into the incident is underway.

The hospital’s General Manager, Dr. Mahmoud Zureikat, confirmed that the incident was the result of a quarrel between the doctor and a member of the Mayor’s family.
