Jordan urged the international community on Wednesday to increase the aid offered to the Kingdom, as the 2018 funds received by the Jordan Response Plan were only enough to cover around 7% of the required amount.

Jordan called on the international community to adhere and commit to the pledge they made during the Brussels I and II donor Conferences, to allow for it to overcome the challenges it is facing due to the Syrian crisis.

The Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Mary Kawar said that Jordan’s compliance with the international human rights principles in hosting refugees will continue, adding that Jordan is equally committed to reviving its economy and improving the livelihood of Jordanians.

Meanwhile, the Jordan Response Platform (JRP) stated that while the 2017 funding has reached up to 65% of the amount required, the needed amount this year stands at $2.517 billion, out of which just $183 million was secured by July, 2018.
