Prime Minister Omar Razzaz honored an investigative team from the Jordan Anti-Corruption Commission (JACC) on Sunday, after they successfully retrieved JD 20 million from contractor companies that carried out projects for the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC) during the period between 2012-2017.

The PM praised the team's efforts in uncovering the violations committed against the public (stealing public funds), and stressed that this achievement reflects the government's policy and seriousness in combating all forms of financial and administrative corruption, firmly and responsibly.

Razzaz said the government has embraced the tagline launched by His Majesty King Abdullah II, "No Immunity to the Corrupt," which is a guideline to the government's work in the fight against all forms of corruption, adding that the law will be applied to everyone with all fairness and transparency, without favoritism to any person or entity.

On the other hand, Razzaz voiced the importance of protecting civilians’ reputation from rumors, defamation and slurs.

Last week, the Attorney General of the Jordanian Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission (JIACC) charged a number of officials with corruption after they were found guilty of stealing millions in public funds.
