The Syrian government reached a deal with armed rebel factions in southern Syria, SANA news agency reported on Friday.

After last week’s failed attempts, the two parties have settled on a ceasefire agreement where rebels agreed to handover their weapons, while those standing against the deal with Damascus are to evacuate to Idlib.

After ousting various militant groups in the cities of Daraa and Suwayda over the span of a week, the Syrian Army Forces have advanced along the Jordanian border and regained control of the Nasib crossing point on Thursday, for the first time since 2015.
