Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) have issued a warning against a ‘Royal Honey’ product available in the market. They tweeted on Thursday “Jordan Food and Drug Administration warns consumers against the ‘Royal Honey VIP’ product which contains substances hazardous to health”.

According to a report published by the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) last July; the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has advised against purchasing or using Royal Honey VIP because it has harmful hidden ingredients and contains tadalafil (an ingredient used in drug prescription).

Another similar JFDA announcement regarding a Saudi pepperoni product was released this week, in which it stated that the processed-meat was not suitable for human consumption nor up to standards. An amount of 480 Kilograms of ‘pepperoni’ was accordingly destroyed.

JFDA is an independent public sector that ensures the safety and suitability of drugs and edible consumables according to a given set of standards for each substance category.
