A Royal Decree was issued Tuesday appointing Yousef Issawi as Chief of the Royal Court as of June 20, 2018.

According to a Royal Court statement, King Abdullah sent a letter to Issawi, commending his “performance and distinguished efforts” in previous posts as secretary general of the Royal Court, advisor and head of the follow-up committee for the implementation of Royal initiatives, and in his position in the Jordan Armed Forces.

In His letter to Issawi, His Majesty expressed his wish for “the Royal Court to be a connection between Him and other state institutions, and to enhance communication between the Royal Court and Jordanians, so as to keep its doors open for all Jordanians.”

Additionally, Qais Abu Dayyeh, was appointed as Chief of the Royal Protocol.

The decree comes after the King accepted the resignation of former Royal Court Chief, Fayez Tarawneh, and Chief of the Royal Protocol, Amer Talal Fayez, earlier the same day.

His Majesty sent a letter to Tarawneh to express His “appreciation and gratitude to you for your outstanding efforts and for the great services you have provided for your country.”
