Thousands in Gaza are mourning on Saturday the loss of a Palestinian nurse who was killed by Israeli snipers the previous day.

Razan Najjar, 21, was a volunteer nurse who was shot in the chest by Israeli live fire on the 10th Friday protest since the Great Return March began in late March.

According to eyewitnesses, Najjar was known for her activism and help for injured protesters since the beginning of the demonstrations.

Najjar has been sharing pictures and videos for her work on her Facebook personal account, her work was admired by many followers. 

Over 100 people were injured on Friday, 40 of whom by live fire, the Palestinian Health Ministry announced, adding that thousands have been injured and the death toll has reached over 115 since the beginning of the march.

Social media activists widely shared photos and videos of Razan during her work near the borders.They also shared pictures of her mother crying while clutching her daughter’s bloodied white uniform.

Razan is the second woman killed in the confrontations with the Israeli forces near the Gaza borders.
