Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will continue receiving medical treatment in Ramallah’s Arab Advisory Hospital and according to its director, Saed Sarahneh, “the date of his release has not been specified,” Maan News Agency reported on Saturday, quoting Reuters.

Abbas was rushed to the hospital last Sunday for the third time in the span of less than a week, after undergoing a minor ear surgery the previous Tuesday.

Doctors disclosed the president was suffering from pneumonia on Monday and that would remain in the hospital until the completion of his treatment.

Nevertheless, the 82 year old president has met with Palestinian officials and held telephone conversations with a number of Arab leaders over the past two days, including King Abdullah II of Jordan.

The king wished him a speedy recovery and wished for Palestinian people to realize their dreams of freedom and independence under Abbas’s leadership.
