The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) temporarily suspended one of its supervisors on Thursday, after he was filmed pushing over a binman in the Quwaismeh area in Amman.

GAM had formed a committee on Wednesday to investigate the incident. The municipality said in a statement that it is willing to take the necessary measures to grant its employees their rights and safeguard their dignity.

It also stressed the importance of mutual respect between supervisors and those in lower-ranking positions.

A thirteen-second video of the incident was widely shared by social media users in Jordan on Wednesday, many of whom expressed their anger at the supervisor and their sympathy for the binman.
