The Israeli Defense Minister, Avigdor Liberman, urged Syrian President, Bashar Al Assad to expel Iranians from Syria through a Tweet on Sunday.

Liberman wrote on his official account on Twitter addressing Al Assad, “learn from what’s happening today, tell Khamenei you are not his doll, and that he has nothing in Syria.”

This isn’t the first time for Liberman to address Assad and ask him to minimize Iranian presence in Syria. He made similar remarks earlier on Friday, during a visit to settlement of Katzrin in the Syrian occupied Golan Heights.

Israeli forces targeted on Thursday what they claimed to be Iranian sites in Syria, after accusing Iran of launching rockets at the Golan Heights. The escalation came after Donald Trump announced earlier on Tuesday that the US will no longer be a part of the Iran nuclear deal.
