Malaysian authorities have released on Wednesday the first photograph of the one of the men thought to be the killer of Palestinian academic Fadi Al-Batsh, who was murdered in Kuala Lumpur last week.

During a press conference in the Malaysian capital, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said that the Malaysian authorities have managed to find a motorcycle that was used by the murderer and his partner in crime.

Al-Batsh was shot 14 times and died instantly on Saturday, while making his way to dawn prayers at a Kuala Lumpur mosque.

police said that the suspects entered Malaysia in January using fake documents, adding that “We believe the duo are still in the country and those who have information can contact the police."

The deceased had lived in Malaysia for ten years after graduating from one of its universities; he was also an engineering lecturer at Universiti Kuala Lumpur British Malaysia Institut (UniKL BMI).

The Islamic Hamas movement announced shortly after the killing that Al-Batsh was one of its members. Meanwhile, his family accused the Mossad of killing their son, and called upon the Malaysian authorities to find the criminal and arrest him.
