We often hear about cats in need of rescuing in Jordan, but this time, it was a little horse that needed the Civil Defense’s help.

A small horse that fell into an empty water well in Mafraq, north of Jordan, on Thursday was quickly saved by the city’s Civil Defense forces.

Eyewitnesses told Al Rai newspaper that the pony fell into the three-meter-deep well while running around a field without its owner.

The rescue forces were careful to gently remove the horse without causing it any harm. A source at the Civil Defense Department said that the rescuers used professional ropes and a crane to lift the young mammal out of the hole.
