Four Palestinians were killed on Saturday in an explosion near the Gaza, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported.

Local medics in the southern city of Rafah claimed the tank shell was Israeli but an Israeli forces spokesperson denied that any airstrikes targeted the area at that time. “We have no knowledge of any Israeli strike in the area,” he clarified.

Local media reported that the four victims were members of the Islamic Jihad Movement, but the movement has neither confirmed nor denied the claims.

Since the beginning of the Great Return March, more than 30 Palestinians have been killed and hundreds injured by Israeli fire. The demonstrations are expected to continue until the anniversary of Palestinian Nakba May 15.
