A Palestinian youth was killed by an Israeli drone close to the Gaza border fence on Thursday. The man, identified by Palestinian media as Marwan Khodary was accused of being a militant by the Israeli military.

Additionally, Shadi Hamdan al-Kashef, 34, has also died due to wounds sustained on Friday, the Gaza Ministry of Health reported, which brings the death toll related to the “Great Return March” to 19.

The protest which commemorated Land Day, was organized as a peaceful demonstration by Palestinian factions in protest of US President Donald Trump’s decision to relocate his country’s embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

An urgent session was held on the same day by UN Security Council where an independent and transparent investigation into the clashes was called for. Even though the session failed to reach agreement, many voices across the globe condemned Israel’s excessive use of power.

The protest is scheduled to continue until May 15, and in an attempt to protect themselves from Israeli snipers Palestinians are planning to burn tyres close to the border fence.
