Do you have a passion for cars and a lot of money to spare? Well, you’re in luck.

The special-digit number plate auction is returning to Amman on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday next week, and those interested in purchasing unique numbers for their cars are invited.

The Drivers and Vehicles License Department (DVLD) said that interested bidders need to bring along with them an authenticated cheque with the DVLD’s accountant’s name on it, or alternatively, a cash deposit for the number plate they wish to bid on.

The deposit for single-digit and double-digit plates is worth JD 3,000, and JD 1,000 for three, four and five-digit plates.

A 16 percent sales tax will be added to the winning bids.

The DVLD noted that bidders are prohibited from taking pictures inside the auction hall, and are not allowed accompaniers to join them inside.

Interested bidders have until 10:30 am on the day of the auction to register.
