Tunisians showed their solidarity with the Palestinian people by organizing protests on Land Day (30 March), which commemorates for Palestinians the events that took place on that day in 1976, the Middle East Monitor reported, citing Anadolu Agency.

Hundreds of protesters marched in the capital Tunis, holding Palestinian flags and banners that read: “Normalizing relations with Israel should be a crime.”

At the protest in Sfax, southern Tunisia, which was organized by the Tunisian Students Association, demonstrators carried Palestinian flags and wore keffiyehs.

Thousands of civilians gathered near the Gaza borders on Friday during their mass sit-ins, held as part of the “Great Return March.”

The march was scheduled as a peaceful demonstration by Palestinian factions, mainly Hamas, in boycott of US President Donald Trump’s decision to relocate his country’s embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Dozens of Palestinian civilians were pronounced dead and hundreds were injured after Israeli forces opened fire on the unarmed protesters.
