The main suspect behind the attack against Palestinian Authority PM Rami Hamadallah in Gaza was arrested on Thursday, according to Hamas sources.

Spokesperson of the Hamas Ministry of Interior, Eyad Buzom, confirmed that Hamas forces besieged a house in Nusairat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip in relation to the Beit Hanoun assassination attempt.

Two Hamas security officers, identified as Ziad Hawajere and Hamada Abu Swereh, were killed by fire opened during the manhunt.

Senior Hamas leader, Salah Bardawil, expressed his hopes that the suspect would survive injuries sustained during the arrest so the truth of the attack can be revealed.

An explosion occurred earlier in March as the Palestinian Authority PM Rami Hamadallah and Head of Security Forces Majed Faraj were on their way to Gaza.
