The Gulf of Aqaba has a rich sea life, and this year, local fishermen caught 92 tonnes of fish there, according to a study by the Royal Marine Conservation Society of Jordan (JREDS).

The study has shown that seven more tonnes of fish were caught in 2017 than they were in 2016.

The fishermen caught different types of fish, including tuna and sardines.

More than 84% of the fishing mainly took place in three areas, with approximately 60 fishing boats during different times of the year.

But Aqaba isn’t just a haven for fishermen; it is also the perfect destination in Jordan for those who love marine life.
