The Israeli Supreme Court ordered on Thursday an interim injunction that suspends the return of the Gaza fisherman body who was killed by the Israeli navy earlier last month. Ismael Abu Riala was killed on Feb. 25, after being found beyond the six nautical miles where Israel allows Gaza fishermen.

The court ruling is in response to a request made by the family of Israeli soldier, Hadar Goldin, who was killed during the 2014 Israeli assault against Gaza. The soldier’s body is reported to be held by Hamas until the moment.

In the request Goldin’s family qualified the return of the fisherman’s body as “awarding prizes and gifts to Hamas”. The soldier’s family is holding a campaign calling for the immediate release of their son’s body.

Israel says that Hamas also holds two other Israeli civilians who crossed-over to Gaza by mistake in 2015 and are mentally-ill .

The Supreme Court is scheduled to discuss the issue again on March 13, before giving a final verdict.
