A young Arab man was shot multiple times and critically wounded by an Israeli soldier on Sunday in the northern port city of Acre after he rammed into two soldiers with his SUV.

The man had rammed into a Border Police officer next to the city market and then proceeded to drive to the train station where he hit two soldiers injuring them slightly before he was shot down.

Israeli media reported the man had received an expensive parking ticket before he launched the attack. His father has spoken to Haaretz denying a political motivation as his pregnant wife was also in the car during the incident.

The man is in a critical condition in the hospital while Israeli authorities are running an investigation to establish the motivation behind the attack carried out by the young man .
