German Authorities said on Friday they have arrested the man who appeared in a Facebook live stream confessing he had just stabbed his ex-wife with a knife.

The German police issued a press release saying that the Syrian refugee had “killed his 37-year-old ex-wife in an apartment in Mühlacker and initially fled with one of their sons on foot.”

“A large contingent of police searched for the fugitive perpetrator and arrested him a short time later in Mühlacker,” the press release also added that the underage daughter who remained in the apartment had notified the police.

The 41-year-old man who identified himself as Abu Marwan, appeared in a 16-minute video with
his son by his side talking about his crime saying he left his ex-wife with her stab wounds unaware whether she was dead or alive.

In the video that later became viral, the man showed no remorse for his action describing himself as brave and justified it by claiming he did it to get his children back. The man was bleeding through a sustained injury on his hand and encouraged people to share his message.

He issued a “warning” to Syrian women claiming this is how they would “end up” if they keep “mistreating their husbands”.
